THIRD PARTY SKILLS ASSESSMENTS - WESTERN AUSTRALIA

In Western Australia, motor mechanics MUST hold a Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate to carry out any repair work on light and heavy motor vehicles.

To assist the Automotive industry in Western Australia, IAME conducts Third Party Skills Assessments to assist motor mechanics in obtaining a Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate. This assessment is available to candidates who can demonstrate the required knowledge, but do not hold the prescribed qualification for the class of repair work as per the “WA Department of Commerce, Licensing Division”.

A Third Party Skills Assessment is one of the pathways to get a Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate where a candidate may hold an overseas qualification, or do does not have any formal qualification but has significant experience in the field.
