Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning

A Refrigerant Handling Licence MUST be held by any person who carries out work in relation to refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) equipment.

Carrying out work in relation to RAC equipment means to do anything with a fluorocarbon refrigerant, or a component of RAC equipment, that carries the risk of refrigerant being emitted, including: decanting the refrigerant, manufacturing, installing, commissioning, servicing or maintaining RAC equipment or decommissioning RAC equipment.

If you are currently involved in the Automotive Industry, have a Trade Qualification or are an Experienced Person who is currently working in the trade and want to become involved in servicing or repairing air conditioning systems, then the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers can assist you in attaining the Certificate II required for Automotive Air Conditioning licencing.

The program consists of Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) for 11 units and Onsite Gap Training in the following 2 units.
